What this actually tells you
The market splits by what "managed" is actually paying for. Hostinger is honestly the cheapest option but, per its own reviewers, remains substantially self-managed after the initial template deployment — you're paying for convenience at setup time, not ongoing operational responsibility. OpenHosst and xCloud both genuinely include ongoing patching and backups at low price points, which is a real, meaningful step up from a template on a bare VPS. ScalaHosting is the most explicit about ongoing n8n-specific maintenance and support, not just server-level support. n8n Cloud is the only option here with zero infrastructure to think about at all, since it's the platform's own product — but that convenience comes with a real, stated restriction (no community nodes) and a cost curve that climbs quickly once you're past a few thousand executions a month.

Build methodology — whether an instance is provisioned from a pre-baked image or built fresh — isn't disclosed by any of them; this matters because an image-based deployment is only as current as when that image was last rebuilt, while a from-scratch build gets the actual latest OS, Docker, antivirus signatures, and n8n version at provisioning time, not whatever was baked in previously.
