cPanel pricing depends on the number of cPanel accounts on a server, not on the number of websites. As of November 2026, the cPanel Store lists four license tiers from $29.99 to $69.99 per month, and cPanel has published higher prices that start on 16 December 2026.
This page shows the current cPanel license price for each tier, the dated price changes that cPanel's own pages confirm, the cPanel price increase for December 2026, and a worked cost table for 5, 25 and 100 accounts. It also shows what the numbers leave out: a cPanel license does not include a server, and a PFHW plan does.

How cPanel counts accounts
cPanel defines an account as a cPanel user account that manages websites, files, domains and email. Accounts created by WHM resellers count as accounts too. Every plan is listed with unlimited websites, so the number of customers you host sets your tier, not the number of sites.
Solo, Admin and Pro are fixed tiers. If you pass the account limit, you must move to a higher tier. Premier scales automatically: cPanel's guide calls every account above 100 a bulk account and bills it per account. On a dedicated server, Premier is the only tier you can use.
The pricing page lists these items as included in every plan: WP Toolkit, SSL certificates, a website builder, website monitoring, email accounts and migration tools. The license covers the software only. You still need a server, and you still need someone to run it.
cPanel pricing history: what changed and when
cPanel has changed its prices and licensing model several times. The table lists the changes that a cPanel-published page confirms.
| Date | What changed | Source type |
|---|---|---|
| 27 June 2019 | cPanel announced account-based pricing for Store customers, partners and distributors. Licenses bought or renewed from that date used the new tiers. Existing monthly licenses were converted on 1 September 2019. Store prices in the guide were $20 (Admin), $30 (Pro) and $45 (Premier) per month, plus $0.20 per account above 100. Before this, a license covered a server with unlimited accounts. | cPanel announcement posted by cPanel staff; copy of the 2019 Store Licensing Guide |
| Around the turn of 2024 to 2025 (date not confirmed) | An archived copy of the cPanel pricing page shows Solo $26.99, Admin $32.99, Pro $46.99, Premier $65.99 and $0.45 per account above 100. The retrieved copy does not show a capture or effective date. Hosts report these prices from December 2024 or January 2025. | Internet Archive copy of the cPanel pricing page |
| 16 December 2025 | Prices rose to Solo $29.99, Admin $35.99, Pro $53.99, Premier $69.99 and $0.49 per account above 100. | cPanel support articles |
| 16 December 2026 | Scheduled increase for every tier. See the next section. | cPanel pricing page and Store Licensing Guide 2027 |
Hosts and community members report other yearly price changes between 2019 and 2025. We did not find a cPanel-published source for them, so they are not listed. In 2019, cPanel also said it was moving all customers to monthly billing. Today cPanel offers yearly billing for Solo, Admin and Pro.
The cPanel price increase on 16 December 2026
The cPanel pricing page carries a notice that, effective 16 December 2026, cPanel license pricing will be adjusted. The notice says this affects new orders and all renewals on or after that date. The Store Licensing Guide 2027, which is marked as valid from 16 December 2026, lists the new prices. The increase is therefore confirmed by cPanel itself, not only by trade press.
| Tier | Until 15 December 2026 | From 16 December 2026 | Change (our arithmetic) | Extra cost per year (our arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo (1 account) | $29.99 | $32.99 | +10.0% | $36.00 |
| Admin (up to 5) | $35.99 | $38.99 | +8.3% | $36.00 |
| Pro (up to 30) | $53.99 | $58.99 | +9.3% | $60.00 |
| Premier (up to 100) | $69.99 | $76.99 | +10.0% | $84.00 |
| Each account above 100 | $0.49 | $0.55 | +12.2% | $0.72 per account |
Premier is sold monthly only. The per-account price rises by the largest percentage, so dense servers feel the cPanel price increase most. For example, a Premier server with 200 accounts costs $118.99 per month now ($69.99 plus 100 accounts at $0.49) and $131.99 from 16 December 2026 ($76.99 plus 100 accounts at $0.55).
The guide adds an Extended Lifecycle Support fee for servers that run CentOS 7 or CloudLinux 7 with cPanel version 110. For 2027 the fee is $9.90 (Solo), $11.70 (Admin), $17.70 (Pro) or $23.10 (Premier) per month on top of the license. The fee is not charged if the server moves to a supported operating system.
One detail is reported only by a trade site: webhosting.today says cPanel emailed customers the 2027 list on 8 October 2026. We could not read that email, so we treat it as unconfirmed. The pricing page notice and the guide are enough to confirm the date and the prices.
What hosts and resellers pay compared with list price
cPanel does not publish what hosting providers and resellers pay. The guide says its Store prices are for customers who buy directly from the Store. It also describes a PartnerNOC program with its own pricing, but that pricing is not listed, and the program requires a consultation with a cPanel sales representative. The guide states that pricing terms and adjustments are set out in your contract.
Two license distributors published their own customer price lists in October 2026. These are selling prices, not the prices cPanel charges them, so they do not show what a host pays.
- One distributor lists Admin at $27, Pro at $43 and Premier (100 accounts) at $62 per month in a notice dated 16 October 2026.
- Another distributor lists Solo at $26.99, Admin at $28.99, Pro at $45.99, Premier at $65.00 and $0.55 per account above 100, effective 1 November 2026.
If your server comes from a provider that includes cPanel, ask the provider what your price will be after 16 December 2026. The cPanel license price you pay may differ from the Store list, in either direction.
Worked cost table: 5, 25 and 100 accounts
The table uses only published prices. We assume each customer is one cPanel account and that you choose the smallest tier that fits. USD and euro amounts are not converted, because we did not use an exchange rate. Both sides exclude VAT. The cPanel license price columns show the license only. The PFHW column shows the full monthly price of a managed server that includes the control panel.
| Accounts | cPanel tier needed | cPanel license until 15 Dec 2026 (USD per month) | cPanel license from 16 Dec 2026 (USD per month) | PFHW (EUR per month, server included) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | Admin (up to 5) | $35.99, plus a server | $38.99, plus a server | No license fee. Plans from €29 (Starter) to €99 (Max), server included. |
| 25 | Pro (up to 30) | $53.99, plus a server | $58.99, plus a server | No license fee. The price depends on the plan you pick, not on the account count. |
| 100 | Premier (up to 100) | $69.99, plus a server | $76.99, plus a server | No license fee. You choose a plan that has enough CPU, RAM and disk for your sites. |
To compare total cost, add the price of your server to the cPanel columns. We do not state a server price for cPanel, because it depends on your provider. For PFHW, the plan prices are €29 (Starter), €39 (Business), €59 (Pro), €69 (Enterprise), €89 (Corporate) and €99 (Max) per month. There is no contract and the price does not rise on renewal. A one-year option gives 20% off.
What each price includes
| Item | cPanel license price | PFHW plan price |
|---|---|---|
| Server (CPU, RAM, disk) | Not included. You rent a VPS or dedicated server separately. | Included. A dedicated virtual server with 2 to 16 vCPU, 4 to 32 GB RAM and 50 to 250 GB storage, depending on the plan. |
| Control panel software | Included | Included |
| License fee per account | Yes, set by tier | None. No limit on sites or accounts. |
| Server management by engineers | Not part of the license. Depends on your provider. | Included: OS security patches, firewall, monitoring and backup administration. |
| Nightly backups | Not listed among the included features on the pricing page. | Included, nightly incremental. |
| Email accounts are listed as included in every plan. | Separate add-on on a separate mail server, from €4 per month for 25 GB. | |
| Automatic SSL certificates | SSL certificates are listed as included. | No automatic issuing. Certificates are uploaded or bought from us. |
| Price change on renewal | Increase scheduled for 16 December 2026. | Price does not rise on renewal. |
Where PFHW fits, and where it does not
Where it fits
- You host many client accounts and want the cost to depend on the server size, not on the number of accounts.
- You want one monthly price that covers the server, the panel, firewall, monitoring, OS security patches and nightly backups.
- You want to leave cPanel without rebuilding sites: PFHW imports cPanel backup packages (cpmove) after a dry run that shows the changes.
- You are an agency or reseller and need plans, reseller accounts, branded client login domains and a login-as-customer function.
- You want a data centre in Vilnius, Lithuania, with data kept in the EU under GDPR.
Where it does not fit
- There is no automatic certificate issuing (no AutoSSL or Let's Encrypt). You upload certificates or buy them from us.
- Email is not in the server price. It is a separate add-on. Mailing lists are not supported, and autoresponders, email filters and spam-filter settings are not in the PFHW portal.
- There is no tool for transferring accounts directly between servers. Accounts come in as a cPanel package file.
- There is no dedicated IP management per account, and the portal interface is English only at present.
- A PFHW plan is one managed server. If you already own servers and only want to cut the license cost, PFHW is a different product, not a license replacement.

Frequently asked questions
What is the cPanel license price per month?
As of November 2026, the cPanel Store lists Solo at $29.99 (1 account), Admin at $35.99 (up to 5), Pro at $53.99 (up to 30) and Premier at $69.99 (up to 100, then $0.49 per extra account). Prices exclude VAT. These prices cover the license only, not the server.
Is the cPanel price increase in December 2026 confirmed?
Yes. The cPanel pricing page states that license pricing is adjusted from 16 December 2026 for new orders and all renewals on or after that date. The Store Licensing Guide 2027 lists Solo at $32.99, Admin at $38.99, Pro at $58.99, Premier at $76.99 and $0.55 per account above 100.
Does cPanel charge per website?
No. cPanel charges per cPanel account, and WHM reseller accounts count as accounts. Every plan is listed with unlimited websites, so one account can host several sites.
Why did cPanel move to per-account pricing?
The Register reported in June 2019 that cPanel cited more powerful server hardware and said its earlier unlimited-account model no longer fit. Under the new model, the license cost rises with the number of accounts on a server.
Do hosting providers pay the same prices as the Store list?
cPanel does not publish partner prices. Its guide says Store prices apply to customers who buy directly, and that PartnerNOC pricing is separate. Ask your provider what the license costs you and when it changes.
Can I avoid a per-account license fee?
Yes, by using a panel that does not charge per account. PFHW has no license fee and no limit on sites or accounts, and the plan price includes the server. Check the gaps listed above, such as no automatic SSL certificates, before you decide.
