Our services run on KVM, CePH, SDN, NFV and SD-WAN . Having partnership with many vendors, we are the only one, again in the middle east to have a true independent cloud across all our non-physical services.
As a Cloud Service Provider, Cloud Acropolis had to make sure all its provisioning systems are automated, reliable, highly available and leading edge yet very cost effective and competitive to the rest of the market worldwide. Having this in the mind of our architects, we had to come up with a design that would stand against any type of disaster based on open flow standards.
We use KVM as hypervisor as a robust, open and cost-effective platform. The management and provisioning are done by Proxmox. Having hosts across multiple site with dark fiber makes this design fully expandable and cost effective.
For storage we are using a distributed method call CePH. This storage technology replicates data and makes it fault-tolerant, using commodity hardware and requiring no specific hardware support. Because of its design, the system is both self-healing and self-managing, aiming to minimize administration time and other costs.

SDN (Software Defined Network), and NFV (Network Function Virtualization) allow us to obtain all the policies within our networking and management equipment and deploy them to all our customer. This capability ensures all our customer can build a Virtual Data Center in our data centers without worrying about their neighboring VDC. Our Virtual Cloud Security (VCS) appliances ensure the networks are fully segregated and secured, one from each other. SD-WAN (Software Defined – Wide Area Network) enables our customer to communicate with their VDC in a Secure and Reliable manner as if they were sitting in their own data center, in a much cheaper way. SD-WAN extends all the network capabilities and functionalities to customer premises with a simple CPE (customer provided equipment). This CPE can connect to all different type of media (ADSL, Fiber, MPLS, 3G, LTE…) in a redundant way. It measures which media is the most available at a given time and start its communication on that media in an encrypted manner. Having SD-WAN and 2 shared links, customers don’t need MPLS and dedicated link. This will cut their cost of communication by 8 folds.
As for our Physical infrastructure, we are using reliable servers and networking equipment in a fully redundant way interconnected via 10GBPS fiber optics. Our connection to operators are also based on fiber at 10GBPS. We can increase this as we have multiple connections already in our ODF to each operator.
